10mm lever belts for training and competition
Most lifters don't need the stiffest belt we make. They need one that braces hard under a heavy squat and still feels like something they can train in the rest of the week. That's the job the 10mm is built for, and it's why it's the thickness most people end up in.
Who the 10mm is for
If this is your first lever belt, start here. The 10mm breaks in faster than the 13mm and carries everything from squats and deadlifts through general strength work without fighting you on the lighter days. If you want the most rigid bracing surface we build and you're chasing a max attempt on the platform, the 13mm is the heavier option. You can see both thicknesses side by side in the full lever belt collection.
How it's built
Every 10mm lever belt is cut from vegetable tan leather and finished with reinforced stitching and a heavy-duty steel lever that locks to the same position every set. It's approved for IPF, IPL, USPA, and USAPL competition, and both the lever and the belt are covered by a lifetime warranty.
Getting the size right
A lever belt sizes to your core, not your hips, so measure around your navel in the clothes you actually train in. Our 10mm belt size guide walks through the measurement and the full size range. If you're still deciding between thicknesses, the 13mm size guide lists the same measurements for the stiffer belt so you can compare before you buy.
FAQs – 10mm lever belts
How long does a 10mm lever belt take to break in?
Give it a few sessions of heavy work. The 10mm softens into your torso faster than the 13mm, which is a large part of why most lifters start at this thickness.
Is a 10mm belt enough support for heavy squats and deadlifts?
Yes. The 10mm carries the same IPF, IPL, USPA, and USAPL approvals as the 13mm, so it meets the same federation standards. The difference between them is rigidity, not whether the belt is enough belt.
Do I have to adjust the lever every time I train?
No. The lever is set once with a screwdriver to match where you brace, and it stays there. You only move it when your training weight or your bodyweight changes enough to need a different hole.
Not sure which thickness you need?
The 10mm handles most training and meets the same competition approvals as the thicker belt, so for most lifters the decision comes down to how rigid you want the bracing surface to feel. Compare both thicknesses, sizing, and colorways in one place before you commit.
